CHICAGO -- OCTOBER 31, 2007 -The Chicago Convention and Tourism Bureau (CCTB) today announced a two-year strategic marketing partnership with Travel Technology Group (Travel Tech), premier provider of hotel and travel management services. Effective January 1, 2008, Travel Tech will be the CCTB’s preferred provider for all housing and travel needs.
Customized technology was paramount in the CCTB’s selection of a preferred housing partner. Travel Tech’s COMPASS Reservation System™ offers access not only to a client’s contracted hotel inventory but also non-blocked hotel rooms, flights and car rentals through a partnership with the Galileo Global Distribution System (GDS). In addition, COMPASS allows for real-time individual and group hotel reservations, delivering immediate confirmations and reporting capabilities with just a few clicks of the mouse.
“The CCTB’s partnership with Travel Tech and its innovative technology complements the Bureau’s efforts in providing unmatched value-added services for our customers,” said Mark Theis, executive vice president of the CCTB. “This partnership provides a seamless process for our customers and hotels, and will ultimately support our continued efforts in maintaining Chicago’s position as a leading visitor destination.”
Currently, Travel Tech has relationships with many of Chicago’s annual meeting and convention customers, including the National Restaurant Association, International Housewares Association, Merchandise Mart Properties, Penton Media, Inc. and Diversified Business Communications.
“Travel Tech’s dedication to the city of Chicago couldn’t be better illustrated than through our new partnership with the CCTB," commented Bob Derham, Managing Director of Travel Tech. “By providing event organizers and participants with the best in event housing services through the CCTB, we're confident in our ability to support Chicago's reputation as a world-class visitor destination.”
